Come to Detroit Unity Temple
We have declared 2010 is The Year of Living Gratefully Will you join us and practice gratitude every day? How good would you like your life to be!
We are a spiritual community dedicated to teaching an inclusive, positive message that supports each person’s unique path to understanding the power and presence of God active in the world. We invite you to join us at our Sunday services and to the many classes, workshops and special events we offer. Our activities are designed to promote a healthy environment for the entire family to learn and practice the love, prosperity and peace teachings of Jesus Christ. Rev. John Considine, Senior Minister
"Reverend John Considine draws upon a lifetime of experiences in business, theater, public life, parenthood and relationships to make the Sunday message practical and relevant for our lives. His wisdom is born of spiritual study, meditation and, as he says “a wealth of hard knocks… I’ve been on top of the mountain on some days, and on other days, the mountain’s been on top of me!” John’s messages are stimulating, uplifting and entertaining. No one falls asleep in church here at Unity! We teach an empowering metaphysical interpretation of Scripture that is geared to bring out the best in us all week long. It’s “practical spirituality” and we discover spiritual tools regarding health, wealth, well-being and peace of mind." A native of Detroit, Rev. John's family moved to Florida when he was a child in the 1950's. Nevertheless, Rev. John has always thought of our city as home, returning to Detroit many times over the years. At one point, he served as an associate minister to noted spiritual author Marianne Williamson at Renaissance Unity. The Considine Recreation Center on Woodward Avenue in Detroit is named for Rev. John's grandfather who was the Director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Detroit under Mayors Miriani and Cobo in the 1940's and 1950's, building over 440 parks throughout the City of Detroit. __________________________________________________ Sunday Service at 10:00 a.m. September 5, 2010 Jesus' Way of Enlightenment Rev.
